Resources for People Giving Care
Many people know about the Alzheimer Society and caregiving organizations that offer support and practical information on caregiving.
They may not be aware that Canada Mortgage and Housing Commission produces a helpful publication, called "At Home With Alzheimer's Disease: Useful Adaptations to the Home Environment." (It offers suggestions to make life a bit easier for the person giving help, while keeping the environment the least restrictive for the person receiving help)
It is not new (1990), but the suggested adaptations are for the most part inexpensive. The suggestions tend to be more appropriate for those with moderate to severe impairment.
